Goldcorp Inc. Red Lake Mine

Formerly the Campbell Mine located in Balmertown has been in continuous operation since 1949 producing in excess of 10 million ounces of gold. The mine currently employs more than 300 full-time employees and also maintains Goldcorp Recreation facility.

Formerly the Dickenson Mine the re-opened Goldcorp Mine has proven and probable gold reserves in excess of 3 million ounces.  The new high-grade gold producer is currently re-developing the property into a world-class mine with annual gold production of 500,000 ounces.The spectacular high-grade ore body has renewed interest in the Red Lake gold field by both major and junior mining companies.  The mine currently employs some 300 people. The mine also has interests in other properties in the Red Lake area with mine potential.

Renewed Exploration at Producing Gold Mines

With the discovery and development of the Goldcorp Inc. Red Lake Mine high grade orebody there is renewed interest in exploration at depth within the districts two producing and several of the past producing mines.  Goldcorp Inc. is continuing with its aggressive exploration program at its Balmertown mine further increasing its known and probable reserves.  The company is also progressing with exploration at its Gullrock, Cochenour and East Bay properties.  Campbell Mine is continuing with exploration and development at depth and is progressing with its exploration program on the former producer, Madsen Mine. Exploration continues in the area for gold, and platinum group metals.  Goldcorp Inc. continues its work in the Trout Bay area of Red Lake for platinum group metals, while Rubicon and Anglo Gold are continuing with work on a number of properties in and around the Red Lake area.
