Tourism and Recreation
The Red Lake and Ear Falls area have
become a world-class outdoor recreation destination, known for its
fishing and hunting experiences, for many tourists from Canada, the
U.S. and Europe. The area is home to over 100 resorts and lodges
that offer everything an outdoors enthusiast would come to expect
in a wilderness adventure. You can choose to drive to the many
road accessible camps or you can fly out by floatplane to one of
the numerous camps accessible only by plane. Whatever you desire,
accomodations can range from rustic outpost log cabins to luxurious
and cozy resorts, complete with hot tubs. Many offer housekeeping,
American plan meals, and package deals.
|
And what's more, the fishing and hunting is amongst the best
you'll find. Some of the waters surrounding this area have
remained untouched and produce real trophy sized fish. There's no
need for tall-tale fish stories here.

Hunters traveling to the area will find a wide range of hunting
opportunites from migratory birds to big game. Area wild lands
provide some of the best hunting for deer, black bear and moose in
North America.

It's not just the great hunting and fishing that bring people
to the area, it's also the great festivals! Every July, on the
shores of Howey Bay in Red Lake, is the 3-day celebration of Red
Lake's aviation history - the Norseman Floatplane Festival.

|
In August, on the shores of the Lac Seul in Ear Falls, is "
Music in the Woods" with the Trout Forest Music Festival.

There are so many other events going
on in the region, like the Red Lake Fall Classic Walleye Catch
& Release Tournament in September, Winterefst in March, Sled
Dog races in January, Pakwash Playday in August and so much
more!
