Northern Eagle High School

Northern Eagle is a educational program designed for First Nations students from remote northern communities who wish to further their high school education. The program is a partnership of NNEC (Northern Nishnawbe Education Council), the Red Lake Board of Education and the Township of Ear Falls. The two organizational components of the program are Northern Eagle High School and Northern Eagle Student Center. These two components of the program work together to provide a holistic education for the students and to assist the students in making the social, educational, geographical and personal transitions required of this generation of young people. Besides the basic, general, and advanced curriculum of a regular high school, the program teaches essential life skills and leadership while making the students native culture an important part of every exercise. Since its inception the program has helped to educate students from 15 different northern communities.
