Local Initiative Fund

• What is this fund?

The Local Initiatives Program helps to

• strengthen and diversify the local enomomy;
• enhance the local communities;
• support local not-for-profit groups; and
• provide financial support to projects identified as priorities in the CCDC's strategic plan.

The Local Initiatives Program is a grant which is provided by FedNor/Industry Canada to promote local economic development and community improvement projects.

• Who can apply?

The Local Initiatives funding is intended for local (or regional) not-for-profit groups, only.

• How much can I apply for?

LIP Applications requesting up to $5,000.00 can be distributed at the local level.  Grants of up to $10,000 are available and are reviewed at a Federal level.

• What type of projects qualify?

The Community Development Committee would like to receive applications for the following type of projects:   

• small capital projects
• pre-feasibility studies       
• research projects
• project administration
• e-commerce promotion    
• seminars/workshops
• marketing/promotion    
• community tourism      
• entrepreneurship
• new technology projects    
• projects with an economic benefit to the region
  

• How do I apply?

To apply, download and print the LIP application form or pick-up a copy at the CCDC office at 137 Howey Street.

• Call the Gwyneth at CCDC at 727-3275 or drop-in if you require additional information.
• Once your application is complete you can mail it to Box 250, Red Lake, ON, P0V 2M0 or
  drop it off at 137 Howey Street in Red Lake.
• Once your application is received, the Community Development Committee will review it and
  contact you with a decision.
